This traditional lakeside log cabin is located in the tip of a pretty headland in Kuusamo and is perfect for a couple. The cottage is located in a peaceful countryside setting just a few meters from a tranquil lake where you can swim, fish and row a boat in summer. In winter, enjoy snowmobiling, husky and reindeer safaris in Ruka ski resort 25km away or try cross-country skiing on the tracks that go along the cottage area and along the frozen lake next to the cottage. Bicycles and a canoe can be hired from the cottage owners, while fishing rods, toboggans and a short snowmobile ride in winter are included in the rental price. Kuusamo area offers wonderful wild nature, dense woods and beautiful sparkling lakes. Oulanka National Park and Kiutaköngäs rapids provide beautiful spots for day trips in summer. White water rafting and canoeing are also possible in the area. Kuusamo Tropics Spa has swimming pools, Jacuzzis and a water slide just a few kilometres from the cottage. The same place also has an Angry Birds Activity Park. Kuusamo town 7km from the cottage has shops, restaurants and cafes. For those interested in nature photography, there is also a lovely photography centre focusing on photos of Hannu Hautala, a famous Finnish nature photographer. Hire car is not essential, but recommended. Cottage owners offer complimentary airport transfers from Kuusamo Airport 4km away, if you decide not to hire a car.

Accommodation

Open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with a wood burning fireplace, one double bedroom, sauna and shower. Sofa bed for two in lounge. Terrace with table and chairs.

Amenities

Sauna (electric), shower, WC, washing machine, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV, DVD player, radio, CD player, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, iron, fridge/freezer and potty. Baby bed and high chair by prior request. Electric lighting and heating. Hot and cold water from tap. Private lake shore, pier, rowing boat, garden furniture and barbecue. Lake shore is shallow and therefore suitable also for small children. Bicycles (2) can be hired for 50 euros per bike per week. A canoe can be hired for 20 euros per day or 100 euros per week. Fishing rods and toboggans. A short snowmobile ride in winter is included in the rental price.
